Beer?

Another daft question but probably the first of many to come.

I am assuming that you can buy beer from the local supermarket in yllas?

It was the first question that hubby has asked!And of course i would like to know!

from what I recal you can but if you want anything stronger you need to order it from the post office, will confirm it when we get back, but serioulsy Bluny - you are not going there for another year, you are going to run out of questions you obsessed woman ;-)

Yep, the local supermarket in Yllas sells beer, and very nice it is too - the %26#39;local brew%26#39; is Lapin Kulta (translates as %26quot;Lappish Gold%26quot;). Had quite a few of them last weekend!

Anything stronger is sold/regulated by the government, so only available at the Alko shops. There isn%26#39;t one in Yllas, nearest one is about 50km away I believe.

Actually, I should have been more specific in my last post, as Yllas covers quite a large area. There is a supermarket but no Alko shop in Yllasjarvi (the village to the south of Yllas mountain). There may well be an Alko shop in Akaslompolo, but didn%26#39;t go there so I can%26#39;t be certain

You can buy beer, ciders and alcopops %26lt;5% from supermarkets and indoor kiosks. For stronger stuff, the nearest place is ALKO store at Kolari, about 50km from Ylläs.

%26quot;Eelin kauppa%26quot; store at Ylläsjärvi runs a ALKO order service. If you place your order in the morning you should be able to collect them same afternoon, or at least next day. They charge €5,80 comission per package (bag, box or case).
