Lost Camera coming home from Yllas - any advice please!!!!!

After a fantastic 5 day trip to the snow princess at yllas with first choice, we arrived home late last night from Gatwick. However on checking my hand luggage, I was absolutely dismayed to see that my camera was no longer in my rucksack. (It was in the side pocket.) Have spent all day phoning Gatwick and even the first choice dept in Lapland to check the coach/plane etc. but no joy. Also phoned the hotel direct and Kittila airport. Am now at a loss as to what to do next. Lost property at Gatwick did say to try and find out where the plane went next in case camera was left on board and not picked up by baggage handlers, but so far have not been able to find this out. Does anyone out there have any advice whatsover. Am not at all bothered about the camera but am so desperate to get the pics of my two boys. Please anyone as am really desperate!!!!!

I don;t know what to say except I am so very sorry!!!!. I have a mate that works for airport. I%26#39;ll see if i can ask her advice for you. And get back to you.

many thanks for your help fudge, really appreciated!

I am really sorry that you have lost the pics, I hope the camera turns up.

This is a cautionary story for others. I always take several memory sticks with my camera and change them every other day. Like you say, the camera does not matter but the pictures are priceless. I also change my camcorder tapes regularly during the holiday just in case that gets lost/stolen.

Fingers crossed that there will be a happy ending.

Jamie,

If the unthinkable happens and you do not get it back, I have some general photos of Levi that may be small compensation and a reminder of your stay.

Hi Jamie

If you tell some details of your camera I can ask it from police station of Kolari.

It’s not big opportunity but we can try.

Thanks so much, anything is worth a try! The camera is a silver panasonic lumix and the model is LS2 (not sure if it states the model no. on the camera) It is in a small black fabric zip up case. The photos are mainly of my sons age 3 and 9 in Lapland and some of them have twin girls (age 11) on them also.

Really convinced I lost camera before boarding plane to Gatwick as rucksack never left my feet on the plane and was not opened at all.

Did think that camera must have fell out of bag on coach to airport but apparently coach has been checked.

If anyone is with First Choice, we were in Tonto the elf%26#39;s group and if they would not mind mentioning it to here I would so grateful.

thank you again so much for all your help, it is very appreciated and gives me a little hope!
