Hi
Read a review from Bluny - we are going to Levi in Feb. Where did you book the private family sleigh ride through? It sounds fantastic. Also (silly question!) What do you do for socks on a 2 year old? Most thermal/ski socks seem to be for older children.

Hi Millpage
We booked the horse sleigh ride through levi tourist office and cost 80 euro for our family of 4.This trip was lovely as we were lucky enough to have booked it for the thu before the big melt down on the friday so everywhere was lovely and white and deep snow and you as it takes you through the forests. We arrived a little early and was able to see the horses and ponys and take alook around the stables.
We had to take a taxi there which was about a 10 min ride and costs about 12 euro each way.
After our ride we were served coffee, hot juice, and biscuits by the lady that ownes the stables and afterwards she will call you a taxi back to your accomodation.
They were all lovely there and it was a lovely trip to do.
As for socks I have no idea for a 2 year old as on our first trip my youngest was 3 and was able to wear ski tube socks.
Ps..If you do this trip then book for when it is light although in feb you should be ok for anytime of day.

Millets do really good socks for a two year old, they are about £7 per 2 pairs

Hi Bluny
Thanks for that. We are so excited about going to Levi. Need to get organised with trips etc. We are going with Inghams - is it best just to book their activities or wait till we get there for others?
Also, do you know any info on Ruka? Thinking of going there Dec 08 for Christmas.
|||
Thanks Kellys6 - will send hubby over to Millets tomorrow to get some!

I think Inghams super safaris husky/reindeer are great and are a good safari to go on and would prebook before you go.
I also would head to the tourist office on arrival and take alook at some of there trips as there are so many to choose from depending on ages of children.
The mini skidoos are great and mine loved them and again can be booked at the tourist office and cost 10 euro for 10 minutes hire.
I know nothing on ruka but looks like you have the bug!!

Hi Shozna
We come back on the 29th Feb. Thanks for the website - got his thermals from there. Already got his ski gear, hat, mittens, boots (his case will be as full as mine!) I was wondering about the buggy - is it easy to get around?

There were lots of people with buggies - but most people seemed to put the small ones in the sledges on blankets and pull them as its easier to pull them over the snow or ice.
