weather experts Levi

Can any of you lapland veterans help out please with interpretting the info on the weather sites. Most seem to be forecasting some snow (between 3 - 8 cm) but what might this mean in real life? Will it be enough to dust the trees?

We have some mobility issues in our party and were hoping for soft walking snow rather than icey hard snow, will the current forecast change the icey conditions reported by Levi visitors returning this week?

I know you dont have a crystal ball but any opinions would be good. We travel to levi on the 30th.

Who knows!!

There has been snow over the last couple of days and judging by the webcams it looks like its no where near as icey as last week. You could see the ice on the cams in front of the front piste but now looks so much whiter and no where near so icey.

There is snow forecasted on levi.fi for tomo and fmi website so fingers crossed it will soften everywhere up.

Take no notice of accuweather long term forecast as its always wrong!

i would agree with bluny, last week the cams had ice on, front slope looked like glass, this week their as been several cmm%26#39;s of snow.

i flight out sunday 30th dec, im not concerned about the snow level, up on top of the slopes looks good.

I got back from Olos Via Kittila on 23rd Dec. They need fresh snow. there is about 2ft of snow on the ground. Trouble is mild weather has caused a slight thaw and then it has frozen. So, what looks like a great heap of soft snow is as hard as rock! In virgin snow areas there is a crust of ice covering very soft dry powder snow that won%26#39;t even stick together to make a snowball (unless you really persist).

Looks like there is snow on the way looking at the forecasts. Thankfully.
