A group of 6 of us are off to Levi on the 13th Jan 08 and are trying to decide which of the many things to do while we are there (aswell as skiing). We wont have enough money to do it all but can anybody recommend the best out of snowmobiling, husky sleigh rides, reindeer sleigh rides and ice fishing?
Also i noticed that Inghams are now doing trips to the famous Ice Hotel? But apparently its about a 4 hour journey? Can anybody give me some info on the nearby Snow Village please??

try www.snowvillage.fi
For excursions take some multi-activity safari like snowmobile safari to reindeer or husky farm (www.levi.fi/aurorasafaris).

We did the snow village in the 30th December - booked it through Levi.Fi, Taxi picked us up at out cabin (6 of us) its about a 40min drive. He waited for us for 2 hours then drove us back = 140ish Euros inc entrance.
You can take a look around all the different bedrooms each one has a different theme - there is an ice bar if you want to have a drink.
There was husky rides outside but i think you had to pre-book these and snowmobiles.
There was a large sledging area for grown-ups and kids, a gift shop - and resteraunt.
The 2 hours was enough time as we had already done the other things.
You can also stay overnight - a good afternoon out with fantastic scenery on the way.

We stayed at the Ice Hotel last year, and have just visited the snowvillage. The snowvillage is built by local art students, I believe, and was good to visit - we went by snowmobile which made it an adventure. The bar wasn%26#39;t open so i felt it lacked any atmosphere.
The Ice Hotel is designed by artists from all over the world and is in a different class - fantastic to stay in. 4 hours each way makes for a long day though ..
You could put it on the list for a future trip to Sweden?

Shell,
What do you think of the Snow Village as a location for a wedding? Do you think it would be a nice place to get married?
Have you got any pictures of the Snow village I could take a look at please?
We are thinking of getting married there (possibly in one of the domes or maybe a kota) but I am getting a bit jittery about booking a wedding somewhere I have never been.
Honest Opinion please?!
Thanks,
Yvonne

Thanks people for your info. Think we will visit the snow village then.
Shell - what did the 140 Euros cover? Is that taxi there %26amp; back %26amp; entrance - for all 6 of you??
Sarah %26amp; Shell - what time of day did you go? (As Sarah has said the bar was shut when she went) - we%26#39;d like to make sure its open when we go...
Thanks

In snowvillage there is also a small wooden chapel. There are places (chairs) for about 15 persons. If you are interested in take contact with them.

We were there about 3.30pm till 5pm - it was dark outside, but well lit inside.

The price included taxi and entrance - booked it before we went with levi.fi - did it on our last day as we wernt goint to the airport until 7pm.
We arrived at 12 - left at 2pm - we saw the little chapel its at the side of the dome.would i get married there - No, already married.lol
all joking aside i think you could find a more magical romantic spot than there.
I have lots of pics if you send me your email add i will try and send you some - have posted a couple under my profile but still waiting for them to go on,
The Church in levi is very nice inside and the vicar/priest was soooooo friendly.
