First Choice clothes hire & costs of trips??

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had hired the clothes from First Choice, i have been looking on the web and cannot see what they provide, whether all in ones or seperates, also do they provide thermals etc too? Are they decent enough?!!

Also does anyone know the prices PP of the day trips, i.e snowmobiling, ice fishing trip etc?

Going to Yllas on 13th Jan for a week!!

thanks x

hi if your going with first choice they give you mostly everything you need, all in one suits, balaclavas, mittens, scarfs, thermal socks and boots, the only thing i would recommend is that you take an extra pair of thermal gloves and a good hat.

we went to levi with our 2 children and done the husky and reindeer ride it cost us £600 for both for a family of four, was expensive compared to the other companies over there, but we didnt have alot of time so we just went directly with them, try booking some on the internet before you go we did one with aurora safaris and it was cheaper and alot more organised than first choice

I personally would not book any trips with First Choice as I think they totally rip you off.

You can book trips locally for alot less and as someone else said they are alot better organised.

Sorry but 600 pound for 2 trips what a rip off!!

Best anyone going to book direct there with other companys, you will save alot more money!

Hi.

One thing you will find is that if you do the organised excursions, take plenty of money, they are expensive!!! the snowmobiles for instance, on a excursion you pay PP, doing it on your own is per machine, I seem to think an organised snowmobile excursion is about 80 euros each, I think, this trip last about 2to3 hours, you can hire a snowmobile for the whole day for around 130 euros, so you will see which is better value.

If you want to try the skiing, we do xcountry, you will be able to hire the full set of gear for about 70 euros for a week.

You can even hire the kit needed for ice fishing, without doing an excursion, but do seek advice from the hirers.

600 pounds would, if used wisely, and you had the time, allow you to do everything you could possibly imagine, so a percentage of that will let you do lots.

Hi,

We returned from Levi mid Dec with First choice and the prices for their trips were; Husky farm - adult 110 and child 76. Reindeer farm adult 110 and child 76, snowmobile adult 92 child 69, night snowmobile adult 109 single 144, letter from Santa 5, ski taster for adult and or child 64 each. The prices quoted are euros and not sterling. I appreciate that you are going to Yllas so prices may not be the same but hopefully it will be a realistic comparison for you.

With regards to the hired clothing we found them to be really good and they kept us really snug. I know temp has been mild but on our arrival day it was -10 in Kittila airport and to be honest I felt much colder on my return to UK. FC don%26#39;t provide thermals but the silk ones I bought hubby and myself we found them to be really good. I bought merino wool thermals for my 2 yr old and she was consistently snug. Are they decent enough - to keep you dry and warm yes, stylish afraid not, the good thing is nearly everyone is wearing hired gear so you all look the same anyway!!

Where are you staying in Yllas, quite fancy trying this area next Dec as I spoke with a few families returning from the Snowy Wilderness lodge who said both location and hotel were lovely.

Have a super trip.
