Kidsland Skiing

I have seen mentiioned in a couple of posts that ski novices have used the free button lifts in kidsland once their lessons have finished.

I have been skiing once before but my wife and too young children (8 and 4) have not been before. I know that the slopes there will probably be insufficient to keep my interest but I am thinking that they may suffice for wife and children (at lease initially). I am interested to learn more about the facilities and slopes (e.g. how long are they). Anyone able to help. Also how far is it to zero point as I will probably want to leave our equipment there rather that lugging it back to the cabin (immelmokit). Finally how much does it cost to keep you skis etc there?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Hi simon

Kids land is great for beginer skiers.

I really cannot tell you how long they are as they are very short but are perfect for children and adults that are learning.

Zero point is a five minute walk from kids land and costs 10 euro per night to leave skis only there.

We found this a problem this year as generally we leave poles, boots, helmets and skis but this year we were not able to and had to carry the lot back to our cabins.

Sorry meant to say that in the end we actually got taxis back to our cabin, as if we had stored our skis there we would of still had to carry the rest back and with kids that are tired and shopping that was the easiest option for us.

Thanks for the prompt response. Sounds like good news about the ski-ing at Kidslnad, probably will use for a day or two and then buy a lift pass.

On the contary I don%26#39;t like the sound of the equipment storage issue. I assume that for 10 euro payment for the storage of skis is the total cost and not per person? How much does a taxi cost back to the immelmokit (I know that you have stayed they Bluny)? Did you also get a taxi in to the slopes as well as from the slopes? How far is it to walk back to immelmokit?

Are you sure that there are no other storage options?

Anyone else able to share their experiences regarding this matter?

Cheers

The cost was for 4 of us to store skis but not boots.

We ended up getting a taxi each way most days as we were in the 6 room cabins which are a ten minute walk from cabin 2 where kelly stayed. The taxis cost was different each time for some reason and had to pay between 7-10 euros each way.

We did not know of any other storage around there to store all equipment.

It was a real pain for us this year and had a good moan and inghams did say that they were going to try and sort something out as the zero point is a new building for this year.

They may have storage there for next year.

Yes let%26#39;s hope something is sorted out for next year. We are aslo staying in cabin no. 2. Do you think you would have walked it if you were staying in this cabin. How far is it from Kidsland?

Cabin No 2 is one of the nearest to the slopes about a 5 minute walk then another 2-3 minutes to kidsland

Simon

Cabin number 2 is located nearer to the slopes than all the rest.

We still did the walk on some of the days in which we did not ski and with our 2 children it may of taken longer as they tend to mess about the whole way which when carrying equipment you just want to get there if you know what I mean.

Personally with my 2 getting up to kids land I would say it would more like a 10-15 min walk with small children.

Yes if we had stayed in cabin number 2 then maybe we would of walked more or at least gave it a go but as we were further away we did not.

However from the 6 room cabins which are at the back of the woods there was a short cut through which we only found on our last day so this would of made things easier for anyone staying in those cabins.

Hi, just returned from Levi yesterday , we put our skis in the rental each night - 5 euros for adults and you get to put a kids set in for free - you can leave your poles there as well but not boots or helments - we just sledged them in each day.

Kids land in my opinion as a killer hill - if you walk further along the side of it through the car park there is a smaller hill to go up i would use that.

the kids loved the slopes there for the first few days a great place to learn but we moved quickly to run 8 which is fantasticm and has a free button lift there and a T bar along side it which goes further up - my hubby and daughter used thant then met us half way which was great.
