They have had quite a lot of snow, it%26#39;s just that it started to slightly melt last week then froze over making it a bit icy, go to www.levi.fi and click on the webcams you%26#39;ll see there is still lots of snow, personally I think, as do the Finnish that end of feb/beg of March is the best time to go

Snow has fallen before mid october. We have been the first week of dec before and have had thick snowfall on trees and has beeen lovely.
Should imagine though that feb/march must have the most snow and look lovely judging by snowdaisy and other people photos.
I like Dec as love the darkness as could not imagine going and having to much daylight as for me it adds to the fun and has a lovely feeling to it.

I want to see trees like you had at the top of levi, they look like lovely.
Wonder if its like thats mid feb?
Got some lovely photos of trees in december that have had thick snow on them but want to see the trees that heavily covered like yours.
Sad really that im so interested in trees and have so may pictures of just trees!

Heavy snow covered on trees (called %26#39;tykky%26#39; in
Finnish) can best been seen in Jan. and Feb. but
this varies yearly and regionally. It is usually
best seen in trees on top of fells. I agree it makes
trees look fairylike so it%26#39;s sad that it makes the
them also break easily, icy snow can weight
hundreds of kilos. You can notice that the trees
are very narrow to stand this weight and are therefore called %26#39;candle spruces%26#39;.

Thats worth knowing, sorry to hype on about trees but its one thing we will never get to see in our country and looks so fab.

Glad its not just me and my daughter that have a thing about wanting to see snowy trees!

One of the reasons we are going back this year is because there weren%26#39;t snowy trees last year!! Bit mad and sad really isn%26#39;t it!!! I%26#39;m so relieved its not just me thats a bit odd!!!Sadly I think it%26#39;ll be brown trees again this year - just have to try next year!!!
