Hi
Has anyone been to Yllas recently? I%26#39;m going in january and I%26#39;m worried that all the lifts are going to be T-bars as I%26#39;m a snowboarder, but not that experienced yet and never been on a T-bar. I have seen some things about a gondola and chair lift, but there seems to be some confusion as to whether they%26#39;re up/working yet! If anyone has been and can let me know, that%26#39;d be great.

I am going next week, will let you know about teh gondola then if no-one else has posted

Hiya - we%26#39;re off to Levi, and have only a week%26#39;s boarding under our belts - I%26#39;m also worried about the lifts having dramatically run a fallen child over on a button lift in Italy last year!!
They%26#39;re definitely harder for boarders because you%26#39;re sideways on - really designed for skiers. I found I had to really concentrate not to catch an edge on the way up (which worked fine until the child fell in the way - harder to avoid!!)
But I%26#39;m thinking - it%26#39;s the best way to learn - this way you have to get good at them!!

Yeah all the lifts are T bar, some are button lifts too.... apart from then new chair lift, but don%26#39;t know when it opens, if its not already...
Be prepared lol

I%26#39;ve been told by a local that the gondola may not be ready until February...........
T-bars are a drag. There is not a chair lift on this side (Saaga) of the mountain. Today the drag lifts up to the top of the mountani were open for the first time. It made a real difference. Not many slopes though - so if you are an experienced skier be prepared - you will be bored...
Fine for an intermediate - wrap up warm for the long lift rides though - and practise your squat thrusts since you%26#39;ll get sore thighs...
Coming down is good though - weeeeeeeeeeee

Thanks everyone, although unfortunately looks like I%26#39;m going to have to be brave and master the T-bars anyway! Sounds like Yllas is a nice place though anyway so should make up for the pain!

We have been to levi this year, i am a first season snowboarder and found the T-bar lifts no problem. Just push your back foot up against the back binding and leave your front foot in its binding. Stand facing uphill and the attendent will put one side of the T-bar between your legs under your leading leg thigh and hold onto the other side of the T-bar and drag. Don%26#39;t worry about it never fell once.

Hope I%26#39;m as lucky as Hilts10 then, glad another novice found them ok!!
