I can now see the need for layering in Lapland, how on earth can you judge the weather and what it%26#39;s going to be like, the forecasts change by the hour and drastically at that. We usually are able to get a somewhat accurate report before setting off for the week. I have been following the local weather sites religiously and very regular ....... you see the forecast and then check it a hour later and the whole week as changed again. Last week it was looking promising that it was cooling down and a 60% chance of snow on a few days, now I see warm temperatures moving up the country again.
It might be better to just %26quot;layer%26quot; and not read the forecasts and just enjoy what we get.
It%26#39;s nearly Sunday and our first trip to Lapland.
Merry Christmas everyone

we fly out on the 6th, and to be honest I%26#39;m a little worried is there snow or not the web cams tell me yes, certain posts on this forum tell me no!!!!!!!!!
which is it ??????????????

Don%26#39;t worry- We%26#39;ve just got back from Levi (2 days ago) and there%26#39;s lots of snow on the ground.
I also notice on www.levi.fi that there%26#39;s snow forecast for the next three days.
Quite right about just going with the weather on a daily basis though. Because of the mild for time of year temps we usually just wore thermal base layers, fleece top and ski pants/ jacket and were more than warm enough.
Be prepared for colder weather on the excursions as it%26#39;s cooler when you move out of the resort and into the countryside. Take your layering with you in rucksacks/bags. The temps/ thermometers also don%26#39;t take account of the wind chill factor which can be biting sometimes.
