K5 Hotel - half board

Now that some of you have returned from your Xmas holidays in Lapland - did anyone stay at or go Half Board at the K5? be interested to know your views.

we stayed at the K5 last year, the food was excellent and I%26#39;m a fussy eater, the hotel is lovely and the rooms gorgeous ...

we are in the K5 chalets having half board in K5 hotel as we speak....food is great..we have 5 kids with us and all are happy..maybe give the pickled herrings a miss for breakfast..lol

We went to the K5 for our evening meal on Xmas Eve. If that is anything to go by the food will be very good. From what we saw it looked like a very smart hotel.

The food is great, the staff are lovely..they were teaching us a bit of finnish last night...the hotel %26amp; the chalets are just fantastic..so clean %26amp; very smart. The bar is fab.

we have just reserved the little hut next to the reindeer corall for the kids for tomorrow..the staff are going to put wood in for the fire so the kids can cook their own sausages..it looks like a kids play house, all kitted out with reindeer skins %26amp; a central fire with seats all around.

Loads of choice at the buffet too.

snownosnow, it sounds as if you are having a great time. Only 6 weeks until we go to the K5 chalets, can%26#39;t wait!

The hut sounds great for the kids, how did you hire it?

We are self catering, are the evening meals expensive in the hotel if not part of the half board option?

Have you come across the ice karting?

Thanks everyone. It%26#39;s good to know the food is good. We%26#39;re going for Xmas staying in the Immelmokit Cabins but going H/B at K5 - I%26#39;m on holiday and didn%26#39;t want to be cooking every night and the price was reasonable to upgrade.

We found it a bit mixed but then we are used to Florida home of amazing choices and service.

The breakfast was okay hot choices a bit cold/ cool %26quot;bacon%26quot; %26quot;sausages%26quot; meatballs scrambled egg.Some cold cereals.Lovely porridge boiled eggs and then fairly average looking cold meats cheese fish. Bread was nice white and rye to toast and croissants. Tea and coffee and hot milk fruit juice.

Twice we were told that the eve meal had changed times and there was nothing left. When we did have it

soup was nice ,cold starters looked a bit naff, main meals again were cool (just look out for them refreshing the buffet as things seemed to get cold v quick) Quality was ok to yuck things like stroganoff lasagne fish rice etc always a veg offering.

Childrens buffet(chips meatballs hot dogs nuggets) wasnt always set up. Tip is to ask and they%26#39;ll cook fresh chips etc for Kids.

I wouldnt do that hlf board again if I went back, it was just about acceptable and nothing to fret over but nothing to get excited over either.

I have to agree, I wan%26#39;t much for the food at the K5, it just wasn%26#39;t to my taste.

Other people with us liked it, but it was 50/50.
