Hi, we are off to the Levi log cabins on saturday and Im not sure we have enough warm clothing.
Also should i pack all the snow gear in the case or will be cold when we get to kittilia airport???? surely we cant wear it all on the flight.

We have just returned from Levi on Sunday and on our outbound flight we all (including 2 yr old) just wore our normal clothes. To get off the plane we put on our coats, hats, gloves and scarf and this was enough as we literally only had to walk a few paces to the bus and then a few paces from the bus into the airport. From the airport to the waiting bus was a little further but we were fine - it was -10 when we arrived and it didn%26#39;t feel as cold as East Mids when we left!
Obviously it will depend on the temp when you are there but with our snow suits on we didn%26#39;t feel cold at all, in fact I was warm and feel colder now that I%26#39;m home!!
Have a super trip, it really is a lovely place.

We returned from Levi last week. We wore normal winter clothes to go but packed hats, scarves and gloves in a ruck sack to take on plane and put them on before leaving plane. It was only -6 when we arrived but did fall to -17 while we were there. The suits are excellent but as the holiday companies advise layering is important then at least when it warms up or in hotel/restaurant you can remove some layersre straight on a coach (always to warm in our experience) and its a short transfer. We took loads and did not wear it all! Hope you have a lovely time, im jealous! Want to go all over again.

Hi we from East Yorkshire and are off to the levi log cabins on Sunday 23rd, we are staying for 7 days so we may see you or be in the cabin next door?? I have 3 kids aged 5,7 and 10 and I think I am more excited than they are. I get quite tearfull thinking about it! It sounds so magical.
I cant give you any advice as I am looking for it myself. I dont have a clue. I am sure I will just take far too much!!
Hope you enjoy the trip and if you find the definitive list as to what to take to llyas let me know.

Travel in normal clothing and pack all your snow gear in you case and carry gloves and hats for children in hand luggage.Also i would travel in ski jacket and snow boots as it saves space.

Hi,we fly from Dublin- Manchester - Kittala on the 23rd, also staying at the levi logs, so will keep eye out for you both. We have two boys aged 4 %26amp; 5, just listen out for the Irish accents!Just wondering if anyone has booked anywhere to eat on Christmas Eve? Alot of places are booked up so may end up with a pizza!!
As far as clothes go, wearing snow boots, warm jacket etc on flights and picking up hired thermal gear on the 24th.
Roll on the 23rd...

We will listen out for the Irish accents, and hopefully bump into you! We are in a Yllas log cabin but have taken half board at the akas hotel, (which has not had a good review on this site)but I am sure somewhere will feed you!
We have had a letter from inghams informing us that the shops are closed on 24th and we arrive late on the 23rd so we have pre ordered provisions from the supermarket ready to collect on the morning of the 24th. I believe that the letter said strict licencing laws forbid trading on the 24th and 25th of December, I can give you the email contact if you wish, I will have to post tommorow as it is on my work PC. (shuush dont tell the boss!!)

Dont worry to much about prev reviews on hotels food as we ate 2 nights this year at the leventunturi hotel in levi and one night was excellent the other night was awfull.It would not put us of going there to eat again though but I think alot depends on choice and whats on offer to eat there that evening.
|||
We have also prebooked a food package on arrival just to keep us going. We were thinking of trying out the Restaurant Cantina on Chris Eve - anyone any feedback on this place??
|||
Yes we ate there this year and the food was good and lots to choose from.

Our daughter is 12 and we are all getting very excited. I hope to bump into some of you. xx
