After reading the post about levi not really catering for fussy kids, I was wondering if yllas is any better?
Do the resteraunts there cater for fussy kids (without being to expensive) or are we better off in levi?
Really this is the deciding factor as everything else is 50/50

Deb
To be honest both my children are fussy eaters.
This year was the first time on a s/c basis and had no problems finding anywhere to eat in Levi.
There are lots of places but its just finding the right ones.
The hotel levetunturi we ate at a couple of times and one meal was great and the other not so good.
Really not much veg we found around for our children but plenty of salads.
Our children were happy to have lots of chips as they dont get them here much at home.

Ps,all of the hotels you can eat in but think they vary each night as to how good they can be.
It was the first time this year that I actually noticed just how many restuarants were in Levi.
Cantinas and some of the restuarants will cook beef and steak without sauces etc for the children.

Thanks bluny, mine dont like veg much,so they wont mind that!
We are going for a cabin now! ive convinced my OH so its either levi logs, levi chalets or levilehto chalets OR a log cabin in yllas so im just checking what to expect eating out

Hi Debbie.
My daughter is also a fussy eater, but we%26#39;ve hhad no problems in Akaslompolo, but the one place we really like eating at is Jullis pizza restaurant, truly the best pizza I%26#39;ve ever tasted, you can share one as well, because they are really big.
Just remembered, look at www.jullis.com
They used to have a sample menu etc on the site.
As you will see, if it hasn%26#39;t changed, it%26#39;s not only pizza.

Debbie I%26#39;m glad you finally convinced your O/H to go to lapland. As I said previously mine didn%26#39;t want to go either and I had to work on him a lot. We returned from Levi on the 23rd and he loved it, especially the skiing which he said he would never do. Even when we arrived he was refusing to ski but we just went ahead and booked all of us in for a lesson and by the end of the day he couldn%26#39;t get enough of it. He wanted to ski another day but we couldn%26#39;t fit it in as we had the husky safari and the aurora safari to do, both of which he loved! So me and the family and our friends have been taking the mick ever since, I don%26#39;t think that he%26#39;ll live it down for a while yet.
We stayed at Levi logs and did H/B at the Sirk.. it was about an 8 min walk from our cabin. It worked well for us, food was reasonable, staff friendly and it was on the way into town. Only had one beer at the hotel it was pricey, so we just stocked up on beer and wine from the supermarket.
I can%26#39;t comment on Yllas but I%26#39;m sure if you choose Levi you will have a lovely holiday.
P.S. My 10yr old is very fussy and we had no problems with food for her.

Thanks everyone, ive checked that website, I had to install adobe or something! took me ages to figure out how to do it!!
Looks great, food very reasonable and all stuff we would all eat.
Lyl my OH has been battered into submission lol (not literally!) in the end I told him i would go on my own with the kids so he soon changed his mind.
I feel quite alot of responsibility now though, he usually arranges holidays and he is leaving this one to me!
I want to make sure we have a fantastic time, but I just cant choose between yllas and levi!!!

Which ever resort you choose stay in a log as its lovely!!
Hotels are great but not the same as a log cabin as you have the whole place to yourself.
You never know you may be able to convince him to take a sauna then roll around in the snow!!
|||
I have managed to convince him about the log cabin, he was determined it should be a hotel (closer to the bar) but he is in the dog house at the mo (with the puppy!) and he is in no position to argue so i have suggested the kids would love a log cabin, and he has agreed!
He would only roll in the snow (naked or not) if there was alcohol involved! and he is never drinking again (aparently) so we are all safe

Heard that one from hubby many of times.
On our first trip to levi we stayed at the levi logs and saw someone run out in the snow naked and had no clue at the time what they were doing but soon learnt though.
Tell me about dogs!Mine pulled the washing of the line while we were out today so was not happy when we returned back home.

We do know how to work our men don%26#39;t we! we are devious creatures, but they do fall for it everytime and persist in going out and having too much to drink so what can they expect!.
I felt the same responsibility as you did Debbie and it was a relief that it all worked out.
Talking of dogs mine doesn%26#39;t cause trouble, he%26#39;s more likely to complain to the RSPCA about me as this morning he was sat cross legged in front of me for ages waiting for me to take him out while I was on this forum!
