Which do you prefer to stay in

Do you prefer log cabins or hotels?

I would be interested in your reasons for your answers.

cabin every time, they are bigger, feel more like a home, space for all the stuff and escape from the children, I also prefer self catering, I am a fussy eater and always moan when I am in hotels about the lack of options for me so self catering is best for me.

I do like hotels but I only like staying in them for either short breaks or if on all inclusive holidays, otherwise I really do feel stuck in a room with a bed with no space

We have only stayed in hotel in lapland once the first time we went. It was fine but cabins/apartments/rowhouses are much better. With children you can please yourself when you eat. Very important as sometimes smaller ones can fall asleep just before mealtimes, esp. in the evening. In self catering you can please yourself more. Also every cabin/apartment/rowhouse we have ever stayed in has had its own sauna. I wouldn%26#39;t be without one after skiing, reduces sore muscles the next day, brilliant. Also you get a log fire/burner to sit round in the evening.

Hi Fudge.

Cabins everytime, you can come and go as you please, plus some of the settings for the cabins are so beautiful.

You can really chill, without rushing back for meals etc.

Hi Fudge,

Having stayed in both I would say I prefer self catering. It is much nicer to have breakfast when you want (dressed in underwear!) and on an evening when the kids are asleep the cabins are so much more comfortable.

For Lapland defo S/C in a log cabin for us is best.We normally book a cabin but take the half board option at the nearest hotel. This year worked out far better as you were not tied to eating at certain times and having to undress and dress the children so many times to eat.
