Crazy Reindeer

Hi, just got back from Crazy Reindeer in Levi with two daughters aged 7 and 2. We had a two bedroom apartment, but if you are taking small children the stairs are so steep to the second bedroom, my husband had to sleep downstairs and I had to sleep upstairs, as they are that dangerous for young children. The room was spotless though and the food great. The excursions with First Choice are nearly £300 for a family of four to do do each trip, ie: reindeer ride and husky ride. Obviously when you only go for four days, you are limited to found out what other companies supply these trips. If you get in contact with the Levi Tourist Information Centre, there is a Company they use and they are less than half the price. First Choice 110euros for adult, 76euros for a child (even a 2 years old!) The Company they use (Arctic Safaris)is 53euros for adult and 25euros for a child and it is the exact same trip, email address, info.levi@arcticsafaris.fi

Also there is only one ATM cashpoint in Levi and it does run out of money, so make sure you have a credit card as well, which we did. Also you don%26#39;t actually meet Santa until the Gala dinner on your last night at 11pm. So if you have young children they really need a sleep on this day, as loads of children where asleep at the dinner table and missed him! I hope this helps famalies, as it would have really helped us if we had known this information before went.

Hi thanks for your brill tips!

I%26#39;m off to the crazy reindeer in a month and was wondering what the hotel itself was like?

Were you far from the ski slopes do you know?

I%26#39;ve heard that the complex is quite big and people have to wander outside to go for meals, is it far?

thanking you in advance :-)

That%26#39;s pretty bad from First Choice, Santa visit at 11pm... not very family friendly

We went with Inghams and he appeared about 7.30 for about 1 1/2 hours and the party was all over by 9.30.

Glad you had a good time, we found the kids were better at negotiating the stairs than we were :-( i%26#39;m getting old now !!!

Powder-fresh.....

The hotel is a couple of hotels put together, the Crazy reindeer is the older original building which is separate behind the %26#39;main%26#39; white reindeer building which is newer includes a restaurant and the reception. Another restaurant is free standing on its own. Nobody should have to walk more than 80m to get to any restaurant, we were in the Crazy reindeer %26#39;annex%26#39; and it was good for our needs.

The hotel is about 250m from the bottom of the main %26#39;front slope%26#39; where a lot of the lifts go from, where the ski bus terminates and where the ski school and point zero ski centre are based.

Have a great time

Cool, thats fab. We%26#39;re staying in the white reindeer so thats grand.

Was worried we%26#39;d be miles from the lift and have to lug our boards for miles!

Thanks again :-)

We went on a Fab Husky safari - We were collected from the Levi Tourist office and had a 5km husky sleigh ride (a lot of the other husky safaris are only 1.5km) a bun and a hot chocolate and a look at the husky pups and the raindeer - The guide was brilliant and it cost 200 euros for the 5 of us!!! Giewont Adventure Safaris - I booked it through the tourist office - It was the highlight of my week!
