Inghams 4 day Santa Trip - review

Just returned from the 4 day Santa trip with Inghams. 12 of us went in the group and we all stayed in the Yllas Log Cabins which were wonderful. The trip was excellent and very very good value. We flew from Gatwick on Wednesday and returned Sunday yesterday .Inghams were very well organised, however the only complaint would be that they could have had more staff available to book the trips at the meeting on the day of arrival, but part of the reason we booked with Inghams was because we wanted to decide on our trips on arrival rather than it all be arranged and being herded round like cattle We went on the family snowmobile trip , super reindeer and mini husky and all were excellant and very good value and not commercialised in any way.The family at the reindeer farm were a lappish family and very friendly and kind. We also went to Julias following recomendation on trip advisor which was excellant food and good value {the best pizza ever} and also went to the Poro restaurant which is excellant and worth a visit. Inghams also took us on a arranged santa trip to a ranch style property which was also well organised and a excellant santa and far better than we thought it was going to be. Would recommend the inghams short breaks to any one and if you are going on a Inghams short break or considering and want any further information please contact.

I am glad you had such a great time we off this wednesday on the same trip stopping in levi. Couple of questions.

Did Inghams have any santa things on the flight...singing ect.

Did you book all your trips with Inghams if so what were there prices like I know they say prices from but in reality how much do they charge?

We are travelling with a 4 year old do you think the trips you did would be suitable you him?

What was the santa night like?

What would you different if you went again?

Any other suggestion for us?

Thanks for your help.

HI Really would not do anything different .

Inghams fly with British Airways christmas movie on the way out but no other entertainment. On the way back the stewards wore christmas hats and reindeer antlers suppose it depends on the christmas sprit of the stewards on the flight but the flights were very good and no delays.

The trips are reasonable and we paid just under £300 for a family of four for all the trips. The family snowmobile was approx 2 hours and the reindeer safari was approx 40 minutes and the huskies was approx 2 km but long enough for a 4 year old. All trips were however in the Yllas area and note you are staying in a different resort therefore may be at different locations.

The santa on the inghams organised night trip was very good and arrived on his sleigh and then the children could visit him in private. No presents are given on this trip by santa so we gave the rep a present from our childrens list which we had brought from home which santa then gave to them when they went in to see him

The santa on the last night dinner gave all the the children a husky key ring the meal was just ok . However all members in our group have said what excellant value the holiday was.

The weather was very kind to us and not to cold never below -5 but would sugest that face masks are used for your 4 year old we bought neoprene face mask on ebay for £8

Hope you have a great time any further question please contact

thanks for that, I am a bit confused which trip was the night trip you mention when santa gave your prsents.

What was wrong with the so called garla last night party. I thought All the children had a private visit and a present?

You see santa twice on the inghams santa trip, included in the price of the holiday. On day two you go by coach late afternoon to a ranch style property were you can have your private meeting with santa (this is where we gave the present from home ) he arrives on his sleigh and on site is horse riding, sledging , tow behind snowmobile on sledge at speed in the woods all of which there is no charge , there is also a small bar, cafe, and gift shop on site. The second time is at the Gala dinner on the Saturday night , santa sits round all the children and gives out the small present but this is not a private meeting and the children do not not get chance to chat to Santa.

Several guest at the arrivals meeting were unaware that the first trip was included in the price of the holiday hope this helps

thanks that put my mind at rest.

Did you see the santa at the village by any chance. We have booked for Dec 08 for 1 week but haven%26#39;t booked a santa visit. We were going to take our son the the village to see santa. is this special enough??

Hi,

We have also just returned from the 3 day Sun - Wed trip to the Yllas log cabins with Inghams and had a REALLY great time. We travelled with our 3 year old daughter who was too young to go on some of the longer, faster snowmobile acgtivities, but the mini huskey ride, and mini reindeer safari were excellent for her and we really enjoyed them too. Making cookies, and meeting Santa was great fun, the resort was not overly commercialised which is great.

There are 1 or 2 things that I think Inghams could do to make this trip a bit more luxurious/ Christmassy. Having arrived at the log cabins - in the dark- I felt that to be expected to make your own way to collect your thermal suits from a cabin which was a good 30 minute walk away, with kids was a bit much - they could have made the collection point more central - why did this need to be so far away.

We literally had to dump our bags in the cabin go as quickly as we could to collect the suits and rush round for dinner or we would have ended up with nothing to eat. They do give you a map, but after a long day travelling with children this wasn%26#39;t particularly customer friendly.

When we got round collected our suits, then made our way to the hotel for dinner ( we were half board), we then had a 15 minute walk back to our cabin. As I said we%26#39;d had to dump our bags, so it was probably about 8.30/ 9pm when we got back to the cabin after dinner - and we had to make our own beds - the bed linen was there, but again with a 3 year old it was a bit of a pain to have to start making beds - why couldn%26#39;t these be made up? Not particularly customer friendly.

We were half board, and there were some toilet rolls, and washing up liquid in the cabins for our arrival - but once again perhaps a welcome basket could have been included - tea/ coffee/ milk sachets, maybe even bread. There is a supermarket, a 20 minute walk from the Muskov cabins- but you really are pushed for time when you arrive, to go collect the suits, get your dinner so it%26#39;s not a great start to have no provisions in your cabin.

If you book morning excursions and live in the Muskov cabins, you will also really struggle to make breakfast at the hotel before you go- we didn%26#39;t manage once, and just had toast/ coffee etc in our own place.

Some other operators welcome guides were dressed up in a elve/ Christmas theme which I really liked, but to be honest I have no gripes with the reps - they were great.

I would highly recommend this trip to anyone - we had an absolute ball. What I%26#39;ve mentioned above are things which I would have liked to see - but which overall did not detract from a truly magical trip.
