someone mentioned in a post that its a good idea to hire your own snowmobile. Does anyone know where to do that and how much.If you do this option, do you then miss out on the husky ride and the reindeer pulling a sled along?

At the moment I don´t recommend renting a snowmobile here in southern Lapland. There isn´t enough snow on snowmobile tracks. Also those tracks cross frozen rivers and lakes and the ice is too thin at the moment.
But you can ask from those companies. Later in winter conditions will be better.
I am sure you can book different activities separately. Check out that Rovaniemi site.
