This is probably a daft question but would appreciate some advice! My son has an all in one ski suit and thermals etc. Does he need to wear trousers as well as the thermals under his suit or are they adequate on their own. (Am okay with his top half, but not sure for his bottom half)! We are off to Yllas on Wednesday and cannot wait!

yes he does need bottoms as well depending on how cold it gets he should have between 3-5 layers on, fleecy bottoms, joggers or thermal combats would all be suitable, hope this helps

Hi Jamiejay
We have just returned from Yllas, you will totally love it there.
Anyway my 2 yr old wore thermals, then joggers and then snow suit and she wasn%26#39;t cold at all. I tucked her joggers inside her ski socks which came up to the top of her legs, a little on the large size but it kept the bottom of her trousers dry.
Hope this helps and that you have a fantastic time. We are going again next year so you can see that we loved it.

Many thanks, this is what I thought but just wanted to check as we are in the middle of packing (always leave it till the last mo!) Better make some more room in the suitcase! Tigger, where did you stay - we are at the snow princess for 4 nights.

Hi again
Yes we stayed at the Snow Princess, you will love it there. Set in truly beautiful surroundings.
Hotel warm and cosy and staff all very friendly.
I will certainly stay there again.

The food at the hotel was great, a good selection every night. The soup was my particular favourite.
You could eat anytime between 6 - 9pm, which was fantastic as there was never any queues and you could sit where you liked.
The children had there own section where there was chips every night and then chicken nuggets, pizza, meat balls, sausages etc so hopefully there is something they will like. My 2 girls often had what was on offer for the adults, the fish I can highly reccomend.
As for taking a pushchair the only time mine was used was when we got on the coach for the return trip to the airport. My 2 yr old fell asleep as soon as we got on and was still asleep 3 1/2 hours later when we boarded the plane. If I go again I will not bother taking it. She does not like sitting in it at the best of times and with all that snow to play in she was having none of it.
Outside the main entrance to the hotel are loads of plastic sleds that you just help yourself to, so whenever we went walking we would just drag her in one of those and she loved it.
Before I went on this trip I had read a few arcticles about people saying that these trips were not suitable for young children and I had worried myself slightly but I can quite honestly say that as long as you have them dressed correctly they will have the time of their life and you will to.
I am already looking at prices for next year which I think is a good advert in itself.

thanks tigger9. grat to hear all the possitive stuff from you about taking the little ones. i%26#39;ve got his thermals snow suits, thermal boots, gloves, balaclava etc but did you put any glove liners underneath thier gloves. i use silk ones for myself when im skiing but not sure if he%26#39;ll need anything or are the gloves enough?
cant wait now!
|||
Lucky you I wish I was going again, oh well just have next year to look forward to.
I didn%26#39;t put any liners inside her gloves and she was fine. She actually didn%26#39;t keep her gloves on much but because the sleeves of the snosuit covered her hands she was as warm as toast.
