Hi, I am staying at Villa Armas for New Year, have a look at the reply I got from Learnerskier back in March.
Regards
Philip
I just came back from lapland in January and stayed at the Villas Armas cabins. Can%26#39;t fault them. They are ideally situated for the Akas hotel, only five minute walk, you might want to bear this in mind if you are thinking of going half board at the Akas, as some of the log cabins can be a bit of a walk away, something to remember if like me you have young children. Also most things seem to take place around the hotel, ie the ski bus, trip departures etc.
The location was very quiet and they are nice and clean, comfortable and quite spacious. Our cabin slept eight and there was only four of us, so there was ample room. The Yllas cabins are more traditionally made whereas the Armas cabins are a modern version ie have log panneling on the outside, don%26#39;t know if this bothers you, but they look fine.
Downstairs you have a twin bedroom, toilet, lounge/kitchen area, utility room with twin showers and sauna, upstairs you have another toilet, twin bedroom and a double bed on the mezzi. They have everything you need, well stocked with cutlery, crockery etc. Theres a washing machine and large dryer ( so don%26#39;t take too many clothes as you can have them washed and dried overnight). There%26#39;s also a nice log burner in the lounge if you feel its getting cold with tons of logs supplied. The cabins themselves are very warm as they have under floor heating and this is all pre-set on timer so the cabin is always warm.
We went self catering and didn%26#39;t find this a problem, theres a good supermarket about 10-15 mins walk away, not to mention jullis, we did eat at the hotel a couple of nights and found the food to be good, nice selection, but i think it can get a bit repetative, we also cooked a couple of meals in the cabin as you can get pretty tired and it was just nice to stay in and relax.
This was our first time to lapland and have already booked up for next year, and have booked the Armas cabins again.Everything your being told is true, you%26#39;ll love the place.
