hi,
myself and my family got back 2 days ago from there **snowy wilderness lodge in lapland**
the hotel itself is in the middle of a national park and is beautiful its lovly and clean and the staff are great and very friendly. how ever we went with first choice hoildays and it did not live up to our expertions. in the days of being there you only leave the hotel once to go to a little shop which is 40mins away and then to the husky and raindeer rides in total you are gone for about 3 hours. there is a tiny little shop at the reception but only sells a few bits. the food has 3 choices fish, veg, or mince meat, all serve with chips, the food is crap!!!
as a trip for the kids to see the snow is was great,
as for the christmas experance is was terrible,
any questions please message me back i will be glad to help

Hello desperatemum1
Like shirleyn write Hotelli Pallas is quite different as for example Levi but it’s really time-honored and nice (on my mind) hotel. If you need more information of activities there try shearh “Muonio” or “Lapland hotels” / Pallas

sorry shirlyn that you did not have a great time.
Did first choice not have any marshmellow toasing going on or entertainment in the evening? What package did you book? Where you promised other activities that did not happen? Also what where the rooms loke was there a kettle in the room or did you have to goi down to reception for the free drinks? Sorry for so many questions just a little apprehensive about going for 7 nights now
Thanks

Some stupid words of advices to spend nice holiday in Lapland:
Staff here is mostly diligent and comfortable people. They work more with their sense of duty as money. You get much more service with your behavior as your money (or you need it REALLY much).
Just sight tight nicely
Discuss your needs with staff
Keep on your requirements if you know what you need
Don’t newer try buy nobody if you really have afford for that
This isn’t a Winter Wonderland par excellence. This is normal place where people live their lives.

Hi there I have recently travelled to this hotel. I must say me and my daughter throughly enjoyed our stay and thought the first choice made it a magical stay for us. We never had chance to get bored because if we wasnt going out of the hotel on the trips we were sledging or building snowmen. My daughter was upstairs quite alot of the time at the kids club provided by First choice. Yes the food wasnt great but your staying at a lodge and considering the price paid i dont think it was too bad. Plus the drinks are included. You do not get a kettle in the room I took my own, cups and cappucinos. The sledges are situated just outside the hotel so you can use them when you want to. We did loads of activties marsh mellow toasting, snow tubing, elf academy which includes skiing, snowman building, snow chairs., decorating cookies, painting on logs, sledging. My daughter went to the dvd time in the day. You meet mrs claus one afternoon. If you do the trips offered by First choice yes they are expensive but you dont have time to get bored. I went for 5 days and I was shattered when I got back from all the activities provided. You need to join in everything on activity sheet its great. Dont worry youll have a fab time!!!!

hi Perttis and world traveller
Thankyou for your comments ..........you have restored my faith in first choice.
had no doubt about finland as we went to holiday club Saariselks lads year and could not wait to go back.We did not want commercialised like Levi, so chose Pallas.
Family not fussy eater and will proberbly be that hungry from the activities we do will eat anything. I think our holiday includes most of the activiies you said, and think it will be great to meet Mrs Claus as we met the big man himself last year and as we are going after christmas he will be gettimg over himself!!!
Back to being very excited and kids still dont know. The holiday will be what we make it thanks for all your comments
Not so desperate mum now
