ski school in Levi

Hi I just wondered if anyone can help with the following questions. We go to Levi on 16th Dec and have not booked any ski lessons as we wanted to have one lesson and then see if we want anymore, have we left it too late to book lessons and can you book individual ones?

Also what age groups do they put the children in? there will be 4 children in our group ages 5,10,12 and 15 and my 10 year old is worried she may end up in a group without the others.

We can%26#39;t wait now especially after reading about other peoples holidays when they come back.

You can book individual lessons when you get there ( go to the ski school cabin at the bottom left hand side of the main piste) and hire skis for just one day at a time (from Zero point - bottom right hand side of main pistes).

I am not sure what age groups they put the kids into. My 5 year old and 6 year old were together.

They all get taught very close to each other.

Thanks Si, that is reassuring.

That was a great review you did earlier, glad you had a great time.

Thanks

Yes, it is a shame it is all over.

Planning next year in the back of my mind!!!!!

One thing to remember when booking ski equipment is that you need to take ID (passport etc). The number of people I heard moaning because they had not taken it!

You will also need to know your height in cm, weight in kg and European shoe size.

Thanks again Si, you have been really helpful. It seems everyone one who has been to Lapland wants to return, I think how popular this forum is shows that. We were thinking it maybe a one off as we like our sunny holidays and my hubby is still not convinced it was a good idea but from what I%26#39;ve read on here he might change his mind.

I also need to use all this gear I%26#39;ve bought again as it has cost a small fortune!!

Hi everyone, we have just got back from our holiday at the Crazy Reindeer and had 7 day lift passes. We got in really late on Sunday from Manchester and wern%26#39;t leaving the resort until 20:15 on the following sunday.

We booked the full 7 days as the children over 7 get 25% off the 7-day price if you book a family lift pass. We have 2 kids, a 6 year old who got on the lifts for free (under 7%26#39;s) and a nine year old. The family lift pass is not advertised by Inghams but you will see it mentioned here at the bottom of the page

www.levi.fi/pages/index.php…

By booking the full 7 days all kids under 18 get 25% off the 7 day price, making their passes cheaper than a 5-day pass. It also mean%26#39;t that on our last day we could pack (out of the rooms by 11am) put our baggage in the baggage room in the hotel and spend the day skiing, come back and get changed in time for tea.

Prior to going out to lapland we had 4 lessons at a dry slope and within the first day we were going down the red runs, and the kids absolutely loved it. There are currently (when we left) 3 lifts open on the main front slopes, lift no 6 (10 mins away on the free ski bus)lift 14 and the gondola lift (black world cup run). The front slopes got busyish at times so if you want a quieter ski experience get the bus to lift 6 (long red run) itv was fantastic. Also have lunch at the Horizon restaurant at the top of the front slopes.

All in all a very good holiday, and I%26#39;m glad we booked the Aurora Safari Santa Safari as it was brilliant (far better than Santa park). Also the kids loved the Inghams Mini husky. Please feel free to ask any questions about the resort or skiing or anything else (I did). If you are going soon you will have a wonderful time, we had such a good time skiing we are currently looking through brouchures for easter!!!!

Hi Lyl,

We have just returned from a week in levi %26amp; like you we wanted to try one ski lesson %26amp; see how we got on. We had no problems booking private lessons with the ski school once there but if you email them you can prebook too.

Our children are 5 %26amp; 8 and they recommended we had separate adult %26amp; child groups to get the most out of it, so you could easily have the 4 kids learning together it costs 59 euros for the first person and 19 euros for each additional person per group for a 90min lesson. The instructor then suggested just hiring skis etc for the rest of the week to practise what we%26#39;d been taught %26amp; my eldest couldn%26#39;t get enough of it!

However you do it, have a fantastic time - we didn%26#39;t want to come home!

Thanks for your reply Loulou and everyone else. I%26#39;m glad the kids can stay together, I reckon they would put us to shame if they were with us anyway as I%26#39;m sure they are going to pick it up a lot quicker than us!

Everyone coming back has had such a brill time I can%26#39;t wait.

Thanks again

Lyl
