Log cabins, Luosto

I am travelling to Luosto on 22 November with my 2 children 6 and 5 for the 4 day trip and was wondering if anyone could give me some info for our trip.

We are staying in the log cabins.

What is the local shop like. What does it sell food wise. Does it sell alcohol?

What do people wear out in the evening for dinner.

Do we need to book extra trips for the day.

What is the lunch that they provide and what is the food like in evening.

When do you get the all in ones?

Hi Snoopy,

Are you going with Canterbury Travel?

If so, log cabins are very nice, and very warm, which came as a bit of a shock to me! I was expecting them to be quite cool but they were very cosy. I didn%26#39;t need to wear the jumpers I had brought with me.

Shop was fairly small, like a Spar. We only brought snacks and milk etc. from it as we were fed enough food at meal times. Can%26#39;t remember seeing any wine. There was beer though. I don%26#39;t think they sell it so freely in Lapland as they do here. Think you can order some.

Evenings are very casual. Jeans, jumpers, snowboots etc. You will not feel underdressed as every wears the same! Most people turn up for meals etc wearing their all in ones. You take them off and leave them on a numbered peg in the cloakrooms. You get your all in ones when you arrive in Luosto. The coach drives to a warehouse type building where you pick up your suit. All very well organised, lots of helpful staff. Boots are one side, suits on the other.

We had a spare day in which we just relaxed and went tobogganing, snowman building, souvenir shopping etc. You can book up trips whilst you are there. We didn%26#39;t feel the need to book extra trips as the days were so tiring! Glad of the time off!

Breakfast is buffet style, cooked English, cold meats, cereal etc. Lunch is soup, stews, bolognaise type food served in chalets on location. Evening meals were served at the Scandic. Choice of meat, sometimes reindeer, which was very tasty,fish, veg. Children could have chips, burgers etc. Berry juice is supplied on your table FREE, you can order alcohol from the bar though. When you arrive you are alloted a table which you keep for the duration of your stay.

Have a fantastic time, we did and are going back to Lapland in Feb! Kazkins

We%26#39;re also staying in the Luesto Log Cabins so thanks for the info -does anyone know the approximate price of a bottle of wine out there??

|||

Cheap I hope. When are you going.

|||

Wine is expensive sadly!! We paid £20 for a bottle of chardonnay which would be about £3.99 in Sainsburys!! Going to stock up this year on the plane!

Did anyone go with Activitiesabroad/responsible traveller?
