We went on our day trip on Sunday - fab day but really tiring. Loads of snow in Rovaniemi at Santa%26#39;s Grotto (First Choice day trip) which was a really good start!!The day was very well organised. Lots of helpful elves working very hard to make the day run smoothly. Santa was very lovely and all the outdoor activities great - made better because of fresh snowfall.
My only criticsism would be queuing and high prices for extras! We spent a long time outdoors and waited until it was nearly time to leave before seeing Santa which worked well for us. But if you go with an open mind to make the most of the day, all will be well.
Watch the weather forecast - we took far too much stuff for a 0 temp - you don%26#39;t need anything different to over here as all is provided.
To all you day trippers - have a fab time and enjoy the day!!

Hi AJsmum,
Can I ask you how much you paid for the day trip each %26amp; what were the extra%26#39;s?
Also can you take a wrapped up present to give to someone to give to Santa for when its your kids turn etc?...
Cheers
M (We go to Yllas on Sunday from Manchester!!)

Hi SmilerEngland
I think we paid about £350 each which was steep I thought - but our choices were limited due to having to take time off work. We booked about end Oct and lots were booked up already.
I think you could take a present but it would be difficult to hand it over and to ensure the right person received it!! There are presents given by Santa - ours received good quality elves in sleeping bag stockings ,so I probably wouldn%26#39;t bother!!
Don%26#39;t worry about food either - I stocked up and didn%26#39;t need to but a little snack may be useful.
The extras were Santa photo - 30E, drinks - loads, drinks in ice bar, toys, certificates from elf school 15E... none of which you had to buy but many the children wanted!! We bought the photo and tried hard to not buy anything else as there was alot of seriously overpriced tat available!! After all it is a captive market.
Have fun on your day!!
