Hi
We are going to Lapland for the 1st time, and I%26#39;m very excited. We are staying in the Yllasarinne Log Cabins from 27th Dec to 1st Jan, we have booked with Cosmos and it includes a gala dinner on New Years Eve.......(here goes)...do we got to dinner in regular warm clothing and snow boots that we%26#39;ve worn for the rest of the week or is it a dressy up event?
I love dressing up but I%26#39;d much rather be warm and not look like a fool. Can somebody advise me?
I don%26#39;t mind if you take the mickey?
Thanks

dress up and pop your snow gear on over the top for walking to the hotel, when you get there you will be able to see how far you are from the hotel and you may be able just to wear your coat to get there but don%26#39;t try wearing kitten heels out in the snow ;-)

We did the same booking with Cosmos and have stayed both at the hotel and in the Log Cabins. People did make an effort for the gala dinner which made a change from wearing our thermals all the time. They set the tables out with crackers etc and the actual meal is a buffet, followed by a disco for the children for a short period of time. I have to say that on both occasions we went with Cosmos the reps were EXCELLENT and made the trips. Cosmos really do make it special. And definately do not wear your high heels until you good there. There is a large area for your coats etc and you can leave your boots there and be all glam in the heels. Yllasrinne is our favourite place in Lapland (we have been the other side to Akasloompo as well). It is very isolated very beautiful with lots of magical walks (with the glitter effect of the snow making it extra special) and a fantastic toboggan slope right outside. Our both occasions we had wild tobogganing at around midnight and in fact it was the kids who wanted to go to bed whilst the adults wanted to play.

Thankyou both so much for your replies..I feel much better (well for a second)...so much to sort out and so little time!! Neavsie...your description brought tears to my eyes, I am so excited. We have booked the trip as a Xmas present for my little boy (well he%26#39;s 9!!!) and I have to keep the forum hidden form him, as I look at it every day and he%26#39;s always about.
Thanks again......no doubt I%26#39;ll be back with some more girly questions.

Hi
We too are going to the same place on 22nd Dec and leaving when you arrive.
Do you have any idea how many euros to take as I believe the drinks etc are quite expensive?
Many thanks
