How do I convince my O/H that he will love lapland?

Please help, me and the kids really want to go, but he isnt keen, how can I convince him he will love it?

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi there i had this problem so i just went without him. We had a fab time!!!!!

|||

Hi just got back, what a fantastic holiday. I was very dubious when my wife mentioned it to me over 12 monthgs ago, as she had seen a 3-day trip at almost £2300. We ended up booking a week with Inghams for less than that. I had never skied before and so was a tad nervous, but love it to bits now.

I don%26#39;t like holidays where the reps are around all the time, everyone sits down for evening entertainment, lies around the pool etc etc so this was just perfect. Do what you want, when you want, and the whole place is really friendly and warm. It is not as commercialised as we were expecting so that was even better.

Your husband will love it, just get him resding some of the posts on this forum.

Thank you both, I got some brochures to leave around so he can see how great it looks! World traveller you are very brave, were you nervous of going on your own? My other half said I should take the kids and he will have the puppy, but I would be a nervous wreck!

How did you find travelling with your daughter, were there mainly couples there?

Tell him that you will go on your own with the children and he will be missing out on the holiday of a lifetime! Does he like motorsport? How about skidooing? As already suggested let him read some of these posts.

|||

I thought it was fantastic, the suits and boots provided really keep you warm.

Highlights for me were mushing huskies, driving snowmobiles, the kids being dragged everywhere in sledges, and meeting the big man himself

I would recommend it to anybody, the trip of a lifetime

Hi Debbie

Just do what I did - book it and don%26#39;t tell him - my hubby has always said that he wouldn%26#39;t waste his money to go to Lapland - I%26#39;ve always wanted to go and I know the children will love it so I booked it a year ago and told him two weeks ago - my thoughts were - he can come with us or not - the chose was his! I%26#39;m pleased to say that hubby was really pleased when I told him we were going - well it would be a waste of HIS money if he didn%26#39;t go!!!

Hi Debbie

My Husband is not at all keen on holidays. He hates being herded around with lots of %26#39;tourists%26#39;! I managed to persuade him to go to Lapland though, our first foreign holiday in 7 years! He liked it so much that we are going back in February. I said that it would help our daughter if she could see the REAL Santa, as there were rumours going around her school that he doesn%26#39;t exsist! She is now a firm believer.

My husband loved the quietness of Lapland, snowmobiling and best of all, sledging!

Good luck and avoid the day trips!

You%26#39;ll have to use emotional blackmail, I do!! Just tell him that he is being cruel to the kids if he is stopping them from going and get them to work on him surely he can%26#39;t say no to them.

I really had to badger my husband into going and he%26#39;s done nothing but moan about the cost of all the trips/gear etc. but I%26#39;m confident he will enjoy it. We go on Sunday and I will let you know if he enjoyed it when we get back, unless you%26#39;ve persuaded him to go by then!

I thought I was the only one with MOG (miserable old git)!! apparently not as you have had a few replies!

Good Luck

Lyl
