Hi all just wanting your opinions on the Inghams gala dinner, we are going to levi on sunday and i have allready booked and paid for the search for santa with Aurora that sounds amazing and i have father christmas visiting the kids in our cabin on the evening of our first full day there, as shell has allready said do you think seeing santa again at the inghams gala dinner will be santa overkill or not. One of the main reasons my six year old is going is to see santa as he is still such a believer don%26#39;t want to spoil it for him by seeing to much of the big man himself. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank You

As you are visiting Santa%26#39;s home town (!) would it really be sooo unusual to bump into him so many times during the course of a week! This is his busy time of the year and he gets out and about!
I%26#39;m sure our 6 year old boy would buy that and if the Lnghams one isn%26#39;t that great - well it%26#39;s just one of those helpers/ imposters(!) (like in Allders etc)

We went to the gala dinner which i must say was better than we thought .It is held in the nightclub which is quite big, think it holds 1500 people. There seemed to be a lot of empty tables but alot of people did come late. The food was quite good, a good choice, not many sweets though.
As for the santa thing, we also went on the Aurora Santa safari and our daughter (6) never mentioned any thing about it. She was glad to see him again. The kids were called up in ages 0-3 4-6 then the rest. There was a bit of a wait to see him but the reps played games with all the kids on the dance floor while they waited. Even the adults could see him at the end. After everyone had seen him santa went outside where his reindeer and sleigh were waiting and off he went.
In my opinion we are glad we went.

Did you go this year and if so what did you think of the santa on the search for santa trip with aurora, i have seen some pics but he did%26#39;nt look that convincing to me, or maybe i am not looking at him through the eyes of a child, and expecting too much.

Yes Kelly we went this year, got back on sunday. Thought santa was very good , when you are there the occasion of the whole thing makes it magical. All the kids were taken by him. It takes about 1/2 hour by snowmobile to get there which only enlightens the excitement.
I%26#39;m sure you will enjoy it we did.

hi, we got back on sunday the 9th and was happy with the inghams gala dinner and santa. food was surprisingly good apart from the desserts as previousley said.
i thought the reps tried hard to keep the kids amused. the only downside is the time you were told to arrive but the reason why is clear after the time it takes for all the children to have their picture took with santa.
worth going to.
on the whole found inghams good apart from the mini-reindeer safari on the lake which was not really worth it, as it was nowhere near a 1.6km trek and it was to dark for the young children to enjoy as well.

We%26#39;re not travelling with Inghams but First choice and i%26#39;m assuming the gala dinner will be much the same in respect of the question i have to ask and now i kind of dread the answer .
Please can anyone tell me ...do people dress up for these gala dinners ?
I%26#39;m getting a bit anxious because by the time i%26#39;ve packed all the layers of clothing and the usual things on top i don%26#39;t think i%26#39;m going to have room in our cases for dressing up clothes %26amp; extra shoes ... was hoping we cud get away with a decent top and a pair of jeans .
