learn to ski package...!

Hi,

If youv%26#39;e paid for the %26#39;learn to ski%26#39; package and you decided you didn%26#39;t want to the ski lessons, could you just not turn up?? will you still get the ski hire and lift pass?? ..sorry i know it%26#39;s confusing, I%26#39;m just curious!;0)

it would make sence that you did, I suppose once you have been issued with you skiies and passes then they are yours for the week

|||

Hi.

On our first visit we didn%26#39;t know if we wanted to ski or not so didn%26#39;t book anything.

Once we arrived, we booked a xcountry lesson, we really enjoyed it, so since then we have hired our skis from the local ski shop and not bothered with lessons, just learnt something everytime we fell over.

But, downhill is different, lessons are essential if you never skied before.

What part are you going to?

Are you from my part of NWales (Gwynedd).

Trev

|||

Hi Trev, yes we are from Gwynedd, Caernarfon to be exact! where abouts are you?

Do you buy your ski pass before you go or when you get there? we saw the learn to ski package and found it to be a good deal, but most of us are experienced skiers/boarders so dont really need the lessons, but the pass and ski hire are still cheaper!! if that makes any sens?

Hi,

I live in a place called Nebo, which is near Penygroes.

We only ski xcountry, so not sure on the pass.

Have you been to Lapland before?

Trev.

|||

ha..ha... i%26#39;m just down the road from you!!!i live in Bethesda Bach about 2 miles from Penygroes!! Small world!! Are you Cymraeg?!

Not been to Lapland before, this will be our first time to Yllas. Staying in the Villa Armas Cabins. There are 3 skiiers and 2 of us are boarders.

Are you going this year?

|||

can I jump onto the Welsh bandwaggon?

I don%26#39;t live there any more but I am origanally from just outside Cardigan

;-)

|||

You are a bit further down the road i%26#39;m afraid...around a 100 miles further down the road!!lol!

If you%26#39;re referring to the Inghams learn to ski package Huwsbach, then I have read quite a bit about how strict they are about more experienced skiiers / boarders signing up as a way to cut costs (if you search you%26#39;ll find the threads).

However not turning up to the lessons at all would be a novel twist, not sure if that%26#39;s been tried - but there have been reports of them cancelling the package with no refund to people they feel are trying to dupe them as %26#39;total beginners%26#39;. Even people who have only had a few lessons on dry slopes have had their lessons cancelled without refund, so be cautious! I have booked this package, and it was made quite clear to me I had to be a total, utter and complete beginner!

Kizzylew (strictly from south wales)

Hi Kizzylew,

I guess your right, otherwise everyone would be doing it, and they would be at aloss. I guess %26#39;Big Brother%26#39;s%26#39; watchin you all the time!!Even in Lapland!!;0)

Thanks!

Per the Inghams site skis %26amp; boots %26amp; ski passes would be £142 in LS %26amp; £152 in High. The learn to ski package is £185 so its no benefit to take this %26amp; not turn up to lessons.

It was cheaper to hire equipment %26amp; get ski passes directly from Levi, but the £ has crashed %26amp; burned against the euro lately so the Inghams price is pretty good now. It might be worth emailing the resort directly to see if you can get a group discount, I know that at Levi they discount the children%26#39;s lift passes if you buy a family pass
