Hi all,
Just booked with Crystal Yylas Log Cabins Villa Armas 2 bed + Mezz.
As much info you all have would be much appreciated, ie where are they , what they are like, proximity to slopes, shop, village ets.
Not doing trips just ski-ing so cost of hire etc - will we need lift passes or are there free slopes.
It says under 6 get free lift pass and equipment - who and where do we get this, is there ski -storage overnight at the slopes.
All the usual things.
Many Many thanks
Shell.

Shell if iam reading the crystal ski book correctly I think it works out cheaper to book a week at ski school and have everything included like ski passes etc.
We dont need the ski school but cost wise I think it works out cheaper.
I have just sent a pm to someone for some advice on this.
Adult lift passes are from 98-108 each and childrens are 60-65 each for the week.But it covers you for all ski lifts in yllas.
|||
Sorry but meant to add that ski school for the week is 102 for adults and 87 per child.
Ski hire and boots is 30 for boots and 35 for skis the same price for children as it is adults.

if you have your own boots and skis then get just the pass, if you don%26#39;t have the skis then from what bluny says, it look like it is cheaper the book the ski school which includes everything rather than doing it seperately
you could email the ski school directly and ask them the costs just to make sure
the cabins are a 2 minute walk to the akas hotel where you get your excussions and ski bus from, the ski bus take between 5 and 10 mins to get to the slopes, your rep will guide you as to how to get your child free ski stuff, when you get to the ski school you get issues with your equiptment, there is no-where to store your other stuff such as your snow boots unless you are very lucky and manage to get one of the 16 lockers, everyone just leaves their boots under the benches, not idea by any mean, we took a large holdall with us and left our stuff in the bag and put it onto op the lockers, nothing ever went missing. you leave your skiies and poles in a large container which is locked at night, you have to take your boots back to your cabin with you or leave them at the hire place and grab a new pair each time. You need to remember the number that is on your skiis
we didn%26#39;t do the last ski school day as we were ill and hadn%26#39;t taken our boots back, we were going to take them but the place was closed, the inghams rep took them for us, the system is not a good one, it is very easy to keep your boots and skiis as there is no log of who you are, what hire stuff you have, you only pay 6 euros each for the ski pass deposit
to get to the supermarket, it%26#39;s no more than a 10 min walk, take a sledge with you to pull your shopping home

poe how far from the akas are the lumpinokos are the lumpiy%26#39;s on the main road or just of it .....looking at the map of destination lapland it apears you can cut thru the woods to town towards jullis ect is that right or not....ty oh wise one x

there are two routes you can take, walk onto the road and take the second turning down to the akas or go under the road and through the woods, we did the latter but one night I was coming back by myself and the street lights were not on, I got so lost in the woods, it all looked the same ;-) the wood walk is nicer too as there are a few little hills the children can slide down, you cna also go the road way and cut through down past the polar star appartments, it really is only a 5 to 10 min walk and very nice it is too
|||
sorry, forgot to add, the get to julis from the lumpy cabins you are best staying on the road, it is the most direct route, the lumpy cabins themselves are set back off the road, easily 500 metres back and some are even futher, it depends on which one you are in, also, it may look a good short cut to go across the fields/woods but trust me, if there is no path, don%26#39;t venture out, you can end up in either loads of snow or icey swamp water, lots of marchland about so it can be nasty and wet
|||
ty poe i had a feeling it wouldnt be as simple as just cutting thru lol
|||
hubby and me have our own boots - so its just ski%26#39;s we need - fids need everything - , i take it each cabin has a sledge.
Shell
|||
no, the cabins don%26#39;t have sledges, if you are lucky there are some about but otherwise just pick them up from ourside the hotels and supermarket, but be warned, the same can happen to your sledge to, and sitting a child in the sledge for safe keeping is not an assurance that some brit will turn up and turf your child out ;-)
|||
you are joking about turfing the children out arnt you?
