Evening all,
Just wondering how many of you buy ski clothing and snow boots that are a couple of sizes bigger than your normal size ?
Especially keen to hear from parents who have taken very young children to Lapland.
Many thanks

Hi Taffmam, we mainly had clothes one size larger, including boots so as to accomodate all the extra pairs of socks!! I just had my usual size salopettes and they were straining to undo and very uncomfortable with all the layers underneath - its either that or I drastically overdid the xmas eating!

suppose it depends on the quality of your sallopettes and thermals, we were advised to use icebreaker thermals (not cheap at £70, but apparently well worth it) under our pair of saloppetes (again £200 so not cheap). This supposidely is adequate even at minus 30.
We will see once we get there, but if it is fine for the top of the cairngorms, then it will stand up well in lapland in March I am sure.

Copy of my post from %26quot;SNOW BOOTS%26quot; yesterday.........
%26quot;We bought Kefas boots for my 4 yr old last year and they were fine.
By bigger than his size to comfortably fit 2 pairs of socks. We almost had to hire boots for our 2yr old daughter as the boots were too narrow and difficult to get on with the extra socks!
Was talking to one of the locals and he said that he wears boots 3 sizes bigger than normal shoe size!
I would suggest 2 sizes bigger - as kids may struggle to walk if they are too much bigger! - too much like clown feet!
Do ebay seach for snow /apres ski boots/ or search for OLANG /KEFAS etc. - You should find something.
Good Luck!%26quot;
