Sledges

After seeing a recent post on the Yllas guest book i had to write a comment, I quote %26quot;Sledges are free and everywhere, as soon as you see one just take it, they are like shopping trollies here%26quot;

....This is not the case, people buy the sledges from the supermarket, or they belong to the cabin owners, and are for use by guests,How annoying would it be to find that someone had taken your sledge YOU had paid for.

Please dont spoil the trust that is abundant in Finland.. its one of the many, many qualities that keep people returning there .

Whenever I have bought a sledge I have left it behind for others to use, I%26#39;m sure if the Cabin owners/visitors were that concerned they would cleary mark them with their name.

Agreed too, some times we locked ours up!! was a great work horse!! carried our ski boots every day from immelmokit in to the slopes!! One tip though, dont sledge down a hill with a sledge with a whole in it!! even a small whole the sledge fills with snow!!! We aslo filled ours with water and it froze, then we put the sledge ice sculpture at the top of the stairs at our cabin like a tombstone, looked pretty good!

I quite liked that about the place that it wasn%26#39;t %26#39;what%26#39;s mine is mine%26#39; like it is in this country, I%26#39;m sure there are lots of spares ones as myself and I%26#39;m sure most other people don%26#39;t bother bringing a plastic sledge all the way back to Britain, I guess the answer is don%26#39;t let it out of your sight if you find it that annoying

Actually this year was the first year that we have seen so many sledges laying around and was not a problem if someone took it.

However when you have 2 small children like we have had other years(from 3 years) and rely on the sledges to drag them back to the cabins it is really annoying!They mainly seem to be taken from outside the shop.

And also it is a dissapointment to them when they come out of the shop and realise someone has stolen there sledge.

Dont surpose you ever pulled you little soldier on one and he is older!

We had to buy one in the end - the shop gave us a marker pen and we put our name all over it - under the rim at the back is a good place as when its being pulled along you can see your name clearly on it - Suprise Suprise - no one took it. lol

The airport check in was filled with people bringing home there sledges - how sad.

Yes now that is abit sad,but then the children may of wanted a little reminder of there holiday.We have our own here and would rather leave them behind for others to use at least that way there should be lots of sledges.

Yes I pulled my little soldier in it a few times LOL

He%26#39;ll be 18 on our next ski trip so I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;ll be dragging him home in a sledge for different reasons
