My 3 yr old has some Kamic Boots they have a thick removeable wool liner in them a drawstring top to stop snow geting in and velcro around the top of the foot/ancle area they keep you warm in temps up to -40, tis feet were always warm this December in Levi.
I got them off Ebay i think they were £30 ish - warm hands and feet = Happy Children.

My son had Sorel Super trooper boots. Sound similar to those that Shell described above. Also guaranteed for temps down to -40.I bought them for £28 from www.cosikids.co.uk.
They were great and my son didn%26#39;t complain once of uncomfortable or cold feet.

I was shopping oday and dsecided to go into TK MAX for a look, they had loads of bargins!! Not a lot for my son%26#39;d size though (he will only be 4) but loads for myself and my husband. I found it hard to resist buying loads!!

Ooops, just noticed all of my spelling mistakes. That%26#39;s what I get for typing too fast and not checking it.

We bought Kefas boots for my 4 yr old last year and they were fine.
By bigger than his size to comfortably fit 2 pairs of socks. We almost had to hire boots for our 2yr old daughter as the boots were too narrow and difficult to get on with the extra socks!
Was talking to one of the locals and he said that he wears boots 3 sizes bigger than normal shoe size!
I would suggest 2 sizes bigger - as kids may struggle to walk if they are too much bigger! - too much like clown feet!
Do ebay seach for snow /apres ski boots/ or search for OLANG /KEFAS etc. - You should find something.
Good Luck!
