Snow/Ski

Hi

We are looking at booking a week to ski in finland

Is there any particular area that would be best and also that is more likely to have snow.We are hopefully wanting to book something within the next couple of days.Any ideas on areas would be great.

Hi, don%26#39;t know if you%26#39;ve booked yet. but:

I know a few things about holidays in finland. for garunteed snow, lapland%26#39;s your best bet.Levi,Yllas and Ruka seem to be quite big resorts and there are a few smaller resorts such as Iso Syote, Salla and Pyha-Luosto that can all be booked through tour ops. in the U.K. if you%26#39;re going to Lapland independantly, the low cost flights to Rovaneimi (The Lap Capital) are quite difficult. most of the Blue 1 flights go via Stockholm or Copenhagen and Helsinki. In southern finland, the cheapest flights are with Ryanair, to Tampere from London Stansted(STN). wherever you go, you%26#39;re never far from a ski resort. see www.vistfinland.com %26#39;s winter pages for a good map. I have also heard that the finnish hostel association has a 4 star hostel in Tampere from where you can get a bus to the resorts. see www.hihostels.com %26#39;s FINLAND pages and click on Tampere.
