I have just booked a snowboarding week in Ruka staying at the Maston Aitio Cabins. Has anyone stayed in these cabins this season? Any tips or comments?
The brochure says %26#39;ski in and out%26#39; but how close are they to the lifts/ slopes?
Also, I understand that they are on the opposite side to the main Ruka area .. are there any good restaurants/ bars in East Ruka?
Thanks in advance for your posts!

I saw those cabins - they are very close to the Vuosseli side of Ruka - I%26#39;d probably say a 5-10 min walk to Vuosseli ski lift depending which end of the road you were on, or an hourly bus journey (takes about 10 mins) to main Ruka. I%26#39;m fairly sure you could go on Vuosseli chair lift to peak, and then ski down Ruka side - saw people heading in that direction, but as a beginner stuck to easier slopes on east side.
Saw lots of cross country skiiers passing those cabins, there are tracks everywhere.
Not much in Vuosseli - one nice restaurant and a smaller cafe style place. I think another cafe that was not open before xmas as it%26#39;s not peak skiing season. But it%26#39;s very very small, and quiet. Not a spot for nightlife.
